Traditionally the left letter is for the first name, the right letter is for the middle name and the larger center initial is for the last name. If the monogram is for a married couple then traditionally the husband's initial is on the left and the wife's is on the right and the last name initial is the larger one in the middle.

Stamps are limited to 50 characters on the outside circle (including spaces) and 12 in the center. Remember that fewer characters will result in larger font size and will be easier to read.
